Brighton Festival Youth Choir Director - Esther Jones

Esther Jones is a professional conductor specializing in choral music and music education. She read music at Oxford University, where she was organ scholar of University College. She studied choral conducting with Patrick Russill and Paul Brough at the Royal Academy of Music, winning several prizes and becoming the first Open Academy Fellow. She now teaches part-time at the RAM, both as vocal ensemble tutor and the choral conducting specialist for the LRAM teaching diploma.

Esther is Assistant Director of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain and directs the Esterhazy Singers of London, Slough Philharmonic Chorus and UBS Choral Society. She is a senior tutor for the Church Music Skills programme - a distance-learning course run by the Royal School of Church Music - and is Director of Music at Christ Church, Epsom Common. She is also in demand as a teacher, animateur and workshop leader, and is a founder-member of Vox Angelica vocal trio
