Brighton Festival Chorus was founded for the 1968 Brighton Festival by its first Music Director, Laszlo Heltay. The choir's first performance - Walton's Belshazzar's Feast, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the composer himself - brought overnight success.
